Description

Did you know that the type of wood your cutting board is made of actually matters? This edge grain cutting board from Elbereth Woodcraft is handcrafted from hard maple. It’s one of the hardest woods available in North America, so you can count on this being the last midsize cutting board you’ll need in your family’s kitchen. Conveniently measuring in at 15” long, 11” wide, and 1” thick, you’ll find this cutting board sturdy enough to stay put while also petite enough to easily rinse off in the kitchen sink. The standard juice groove makes sure Dad’s steak doesn’t leave a mess on the table while your choice from three styles of metal feet keep this cutting board firmly planted on silicone pads. These feet won’t harden over time like the rubber ones you so often find on the internet mega stores. At Elbereth Woodcraft, we take pride in our craft, and this edge grain maple cutting board is a great example of how we consider every detail.

Care

When caring for your Elbereth Woodcraft pieces, it is essential that you do not run them through the dishwasher. The combination of scalding temperatures, harsh detergents, and high-pressure water will ruin most wood products. Wood is a naturally porous organic material that’s best maintained by gentle handwashing with soap and warm water before drying with a towel. Once hand dried, we recommend placing wood kitchen items like ours in a drying rack or leaned against the backsplash to allow even air drying of any moisture the towel may have missed. All Elbereth Woodcraft items come with a small tin of wood conditioner to be applied if the wood begins to look dry. If you received any of our cutting boards, your purchase also included a bottle of hydrating wood serum. Apply this before the wood conditioner to better protect against the higher demands of cutting boards.
